Marita Astra
View original language description ↓
Mrs. Marita is part of the communal bank “Las Fresitas”, lives at Jr. Los Cedros Mz. 265 Lt. 3, District of Yarina Cocha, Ucayali Province. She’s 42 years old and is the mother of 3 children, of whom only one still depends on her. She’s married and her husband works, but the income isn’t enough to cover the costs of the house. This is why Marita, with the 1st loan she received of 300 soles ($100US) from Manuela Ramos, started a bakery and bought a second hand motorcar to increase the household income.

In fact, she bakes in the bakery she started in her house and delivers it with her motorcar. She and her husband wake up at 4am to knead the dough so they can be ready to distribute and sell it to their customers by 6am. Afterwards, she makes breakfast for her sons so they can go to their respective jobs and schools.

With the recent loan she received from Manuela Ramos of 3000 soles ($1000US approx.) -- which will be repaid in 6 months -- she‘ll buy 1 bag of flour, 1 box of butter, 3 packs of yeast, half a bag of sugar, 2 packs of large sodas and two packs of small sodas, and also some parts for her motorcar. Marita is happy because she feels that all her dreams are being made into a reality. Thanks to the support of Manuela Ramos, her business is growing, her clients are satisfied with her products, and her income is growing more and more every day. Along with their children, they’re going to make the business prosper and grow for the wellbeing of the whole family.
