La señora Maria Julia tiene 64 años es una mujer muy emprendedora y disfruta mucho de su trabajo. Su actividad económica es la venta de tortillas, frijoles y leña por lo que tiene más de 25 años de tener esta actividad, ya que surgió como una alternativa de trabajo para ella y su familia pues no tenía un ingreso mensual para brindar el alimento diario. Es por medio de Fundación León 2000 que ha logrado obtener estos financiamientos que hacen que su negocio mejore cada día. El sueño de ella es seguir manteniendo este negocio ya que es el único medio de vida que tiene. Por lo que el financiamiento es destinado maíz, comal, leña, frijoles entre otros productos que ofrece.

Fundación Leon 2000 began operations in 1993 as the first microfinance institution to serve the western part of Nicaragua, a country which continues to be one of the poorest in the western hemisphere. Fundación Leon 2000 works to further the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises through credit services and management, applying the best credit industry practices and technical expertise. Additionally, Fundación Leon manages several business and financial education programs in the community, specifically for young entrepreneurs and at-risk youth.
