Roselyn T. lives in the village of Katipunan, Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental. She is 32 years old, single and makes a living by growing vegetables. She has been in this line of work for more than two years and earns about 1,500 PHP a month.
Earlier this year, Roselyn joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her life and ability to engage in business. She is applying for her first loan, for PHP 5,000, to buy fertilizer. She plans to use the additional revenue made possible by this loan to expand and improve her business.
GDMPC is one of the most progressive cooperatives in Mindanao, Philippines. It has four branches and three units offices covering the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental. Its membership is composed mostly of farmers, fishermen and women, and small entrepreneurs.
