Sewing clothes is the main part of Mr. Pang R.'s daily activites in the garment industry. He s 26 years old and has been working at his job for over a year. Pang R. lives with his aging mother who stays home and manages the household.
Pang R. is concerned about his difficulties traveling to his workplace. He does not own his own vehicle and therefore either walks to work or hires a taxi. To solve this problem, Pang R. has requested a loan of 1,000 USD to buy a motorcycle so that he may get to work without hiring a taxi.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
