Janet N. is 25 years old and lives in the town of Kitintale in the Kampala central region of Uganda. She is married and has one child, who is not currently in school. Janet has a secretarial services business, which she has run for two years. She is also a salary earner.
To help expand her business, Janet has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from Kiva partner, BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase computers for her secretarial business. With the help of her loan from BRAC, Janet hopes to generate greater profits and take care of herself. In the future, she hopes to open a training center offering computer lessons.
