Sao N. was born in 1963. She is a married woman and a good mother who is blessed with four children who are single. Two of her children are employed as overseas workers. To earn a living, Sao N. cultivates rice with her husband.
Sao N. needs people to help with her farming business. She is requesting a loan from Kiva to hire domestic laborers to work with her to harvest her rice crop.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
