With enthusiasm and the help of some neighbors, she got together a group in order to be able to request a loan. This community bank is called 'Bendición de Chajabal' (Chajabal Blessing) The group is made up of five women and one man who all carry out different business activities such as raising animals, providing veterinarian services, selling concentrated pig feed and selling chicken. Evelyn will use her loan to buy merchandise and thereby increase her sales volume. She hopes to use her loan from ASDIR to help grow her business and make it more productive.

Doña Evelyn Yamilet TeC. Hernández, es una persona casada, ha cursado el sexto grado primaria, tiene 4 hijos los cuales siguen a su cargo, ella se dedica al comercio tienda de consumo diario y también venta de concentrado para cerdos y pollos, tiene 10 años ya con este negocio. Contando con entusiasmo y la ayuda de algunas vecinas organizan un grupo, para poder solicitar un préstamo. El Grupo Solidario se denomina la Bendición de Chajabal, El grupo cuenta con cinco integrantes mujeres y un hombre, quienes se dedican a diversas actividades entre ellos podemos mencionar, la crianza de animales, servicio de veterinaria, venta de concentrado de cerdos, y venta de carne de pollo. El préstamo ella lo utilizará para compra de mercadería y así incrementar el volumen de ventas. Espera que su negocio sea más grande y productivo., con la ayuda del crédito que solicita en ASDIR.

About Asociación ASDIR

ASDIR (Asociación de Desarrollo Integral Rural - Association for the Development of Rural Communities) is a community-based organization that works to promote development in the villages and communities where it serves. It was founded in 1999 in the village of Nimasac, Totonicapán Department, by a handful of local men and women to support community projects and group loans. Today ASDIR has 5 offices across 3 departments (Totonicapán, Sololá and Suchitepéquez) serving more than 6,000 clients, most of them in rural communities.
