Naomi is a married woman with one child, who is currently in school. She lives in a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are rent bills, electricity bills and clothing.
She has been operating a beauty salon business for the past three years. Her potential customers are neighbours and passersby. Naomi faces a major challenge in competition from other beauty shop operators. She hopes to expand her business in the future.
With the loan for 40,000 Kshs, she wants to purchase hair weaves for her beauty salons business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans and improve her living standards.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
