Julia is a married woman who lives in a rental house that has electricity but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food, clothing and rent bills.
She has operated a vegetable-stall business for the past two years, selling at retail to her neighbours and passersby. Julia faces a major challenge of competition from other vegetable-stall operators. She hopes to expand her business in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase sacks of tomatoes, onions, vegetables, and building materials to expand her stall. She decided to join Yehu to access loans and improve her business.
