Juana

Juana forma parte del banco comunal “Cuentas Claras”, perteneciente a la ciudad de Rancagua. Ella tiene una amasandería hace 3 años en un local cercano a su casa, sin embargo hace 30 años que trabaja en este rubro. Además vende colaciones para obreros de la construcción. Su hija mayor trabaja con ella en este negocio.
Gracias a los préstamos de Fondo Esperanza ha ido adquiriendo diferentes máquinas como una congeladora, cortadora de cecinas y una máquina conservadora de alimentos, ya que su sueño es incorporar más productos a su negocio. Ahora que cuenta con las máquinas necesarias, con este préstamo comprará mercadería como por ejemplo: lácteos, pollos congelados y cecinas.
Su sueño es tener un mini restaurante para atender mejor a sus clientes de las colaciones.
Juana es maestra de cocina, le gusta mucho su trabajo y está muy agradecida del apoyo de Fondo Esperanza, ya que con los préstamos que ha recibido ha logrado ir creciendo en su negocio.
Rancagua pertenece a la región del Libertador Bernardo O´Higgins. Es una moderna ciudad que regula el principal proceso productivo y exportador agrofrutícola y vitivinícola de Chile. Es también una ciudad minera, debido a que en su cordillera se encuentra la mina subterránea más grande del mundo “El Teniente”, con 4.500 km. de túneles.

About Fondo Esperanza

Fondo Esperanza (FE) is a private non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurship by providing micro-credit and training to people living in poverty in well over 100 cities throughout Chile. By providing these services, FE aims to improve the living conditions of the entrepreneurs and their families. In 2010, FE provided loans to more than 41,000 entrepreneurs. It utilizes a communal banking model in which groups of 18 to 25 clients meet on regularly and guarantee each other’s loans. The members use their portion of the loan to create or expand their own businesses. In the group meetings, clients receive training though the FE Entrepreneurship School, which enhances clients’ personal and business skills and ability to work in groups.
