Harris O. S. is a thirty-two-year-old married man. His wife is a secretary at a local secondary school. They have a two-year-old child whom they hope to educate to the university level.
Harris sells mobile phone accessories as well as do repairs. His business is located in Kakamega town – a region in Kenya known for the production of sugarcane, commonly referred to as the sugarbelt region. He has been in this business for the last nine years. This business is profitable, but his major challenge is the unavailability of the mobile phones accessories in his area. He has to travel to Nairobi to get them. However, he works very hard from early morning to late evening to keep his business doing well.
Harris is requesting a loan of 70,000 KES to buy mobile phone accessories to expand his business and meet customer demand. He hopes to purchase a plot of land and build his own house in the future. Harris describes himself as determined and visionary.
