Joshua S. M. is 24 years old and he is not married yet. His business is located at the Kinanie market and he is served by the Kitengela branch of SMEP, a Kiva partner.
He repairs bicycles and motorbikes. He has been in this business for two years. He serves other business people who operate motorbikes and bicycles. He says that this business is profitable and the major challenges he has are financial constraints and the fact that some spare parts are not readily available. However, he works very hard to keep his business doing well.
He is using his loan of 50,000 Kenyan shillings to buy more spare chains, bulbs, spokes and other parts to use to repair the motorbikes and bicycles brought to him. He hopes to grow his business and become a distributor of spare parts in the future. He describes himself as very focused, determined and innovative.
