Mwanatumu is a single woman with three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For over ten years, she has operated a cashew nuts sales business, selling at the market to her neighbours and passersby. Mwanatumu faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She hopes to be a reliable seller of cashew nuts in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase sacks of cashew nuts for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her livelihood.
