Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $3,200 helped a member purchase shoes to sell.

San Isidro Del Campo Group's story

This photo was taken at the home of Eva M., one of the members of the San Isidro del Campo Group which is located in the community of Campo Chico in the State of Veracruz in Mexico. Eva started selling shoes a year ago. She is requesting a loan to buy more shoes so that she will have a wider variety of merchandise to offer. Her neighbors and customers know her to be a hardworking woman who is dedicated to her family. Upon submitting her application, Eva said she was happy with the loan process. She is 34 years old and has an elementary school education. Eva is married and has three children, a daughter and two sons.

She wants this loan to buy more merchandise so that she can attract more customers and increase her sales. Eva also hopes to make a few repairs to her home as well as increase her sales and support her children with their studies. Later on she wants to expand her house.
