Mbithi is 40 years old, married and a member of Faulu Kenya under the Bombolulu group. He runs a "matatu" (van) transport business in the Kibera slums. He has been engaged in this business for five years. Currently, he has employed two people. He hopes that someday he will open his own transport company. He sees himself being a successful businessman in the next five years. He has requested a loan of 80,000 Kenya shillings to buy paint and repair his van.
