Caren A. A. is twenty-nine years old. She is married to a carpenter and they have four children between the ages of eight months and eleven years, for whom they hope to provide a good education to the university level.
Her business is located at Nyalenda in Kisumu. Kisumu is the region in Kenya known for the production of fish from Lake Victoria and is well known as the lake basin. Caren owns a restaurant in which she sells food to construction workers and local people. She has been in this business for six years now and has three employees. She says that this business is profitable, and the only major challenge she has is financial constraints. However, she works very hard to keep her business doing well.
She is using her loan of 20,000 KES to buy ingredients for making food to sell to her customers. In the future, she hopes to expand her business. She describes herself as an honest and humble lady.
