The members of the group BENKADI are married, averaging 41 years of age and four children living for the most part in polygamous families in MEDINE, a district of Sikasso City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The group members are on their eighth collaboration with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to meet the needs of their customers.  The past loans have been repaid properly. This group of women does commerce in condiments, as in the case of Ms. AWA S., the group’s president.  

AWA S. plans on using her loan to buy 1 baskets of tomatoes.  She gets her supplies at the big market of Sikasso.  The tomatoes are sold for cash to a customer base composed of women at the MEDINE market in Sikasso together as a family. She envisions making an average monthly profit of 70,000 francs CFA that will be used for day-to-day family expenses.  She has the ambition of increasing her sales in order to satisfy her customer base.

Les membres du groupe BENKADI sont toutes mariés ayant en moyenne 41 ans, 4 enfants et vivant majoritairement dans des familles polygames à MEDINE un des quartiers de la ville de Sikasso 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles sont à leur huitième collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle, les prêts passés ont été remboursés dans de bonne condition. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de condiments tel le cas de AWA S., la présidente du groupe.
AWA S. compte acheter avec son prêt 10 paniers de tomates. Elle s’approvisionne au grand marché de Sikasso.
Les paniers de tomates sont revendus au marché de MEDINE à Sikasso et en famille à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes au comptant.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 70.000 FCFA qui sera utilisé pour les dépenses quotidiennes de la famille .
Elle ambitionne d’augmenter son chiffre d’affaire pour mieux satisfaire sa clientèle.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
