B. Feibe is a 61-year-old dairy farmer in Namizi-Jinja. She is one lady with the courage of her convictions. Despite her age, she exemplifies the diligence often expected in people on the sunny side of 35. Given the fact that most Ugandans in general drink milk, one can reasonably assume that her business is doing well. Needless to say, her business has indeed been making strides in the 13 years she has been operating it. She said to get established in this business, she received training and learned skills from a local agriculture advisory school.

Feibe also runs a small grocery store in Jinja Market. Her weekly profits equate to 80,000 shillings. Feibe is happily married with 11 children. She said with this loan, she will purchase another cow and improve her kraals. She belongs to Budondo Development Association-Jinja.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
