Mayita Marianela
The 22 De Julio communal bank meets every 15 days in the Picoaza parish in the city of Portoviejo. This area is known for being a highly commercial zone, for its traditional celebrations of Saint Pedro and Saint Pablo, and for the joyfulness of its people.

This is where we find Ms. Mayita, who is 38 years old. She is in a common-law marriage through which she has had four children (ages 21, 19, 15, and 3 years) who are all in university or school. Her husband is a merchant.

This loan is for Mayita's husband's business. He sells fruits and vegetables across the whole city and also visits areas surrounding the city. Every morning he takes his motorcycle to the city's market to buy products wholesale. He then goes out through the streets and other areas with his products. Mayita says that her husband works hard during the days so that they do not lack anything.

Mayita is requesting this loan to help her husband with his business. He will buy fruits and vegetables with it. Mayita has been in the communal bank for six cycles and she likes it because it allows her to contribute in some way to her family's expenses. Her dream is to have a grocery store.
