Saumu is a married woman with four children, all of whom have graduated from school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For over twenty years, she has operated a retail shop selling to her neighbours and passersby. Saumu faces a major challenge in competition from other vendors. She hopes to expand in the future.
With the Kshs 40,000, she wants to purchase wheat flour and maize flour. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her business.
