Scovia is a forty-three-year-old married woman with six children who owns a house in Kasese, Uganda. She has been in the salt pan (salt deposit, such a salt lake, from which salt can be extracted, processed and sold) and crude salt business for fifteen years. She started with two bags and now owns one hundred fifty bags with a stock valued at three million Uganda shillings. Her hardship is rain and her vision is to educate her children. Scovia needs the loan to buy crude salt to sell.
