Amina is a married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is school fees.
She has operated a beauty salon for the past two years; neighbours and passersby are her potential customers. Amina faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She hopes to build another beauty salon in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase hair weaves and pay for her business license. She decided to join Yehu because of its good reputation in the community.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
