Fatuma is a married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is clothing.
She has operated a vegetable stall business for the past year, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. Fatuma faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She hopes to establish a retail shop in the future.
With the Kshs 25,000 she wants to purchase green vegetables, fruit, and coconuts. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
