En la ciudad de Portoviejo, capital de Manabí conocida desde hace muchos años como la ciudad de los reales tamarindos, se reúnen cada quince días las socias del Banco Comunal Virgen De Monserrate.

En este lugar encontramos a la señora Julia, tiene 40 años de edad, está separada pero de esa relación tiene 2 hijos de 17 y 8 años los mismos que estudian en colegio y escuela. Está en el Banco Comunal hace un año y le gusta porque los intereses son bajos en relación a los otros Bancos.

Se dedica al comercio, vende productos de Yanbal (productos de belleza, cosméticos, perfumería y accesorios de damas). Ella tiene un grupo de vendedoras a su cargo, Trabaja cuatro días a la semana unas tres horas por día. Lo que más vende son los perfumes y bisutería, además de estos productos también vende ropa por catalogo.
