Mariya is married with a grown daughter and a teenage son. She is a retail entrepreneur from Ivano-Frankivsk, Western Ukraine. Mariya owns a small store downtown Ivano-Frankivsk. She sells children’s clothing merchandise, stuffed toys and games. Mariya has been in the trade for 5 years. Her monthly income amounts to 7,000 Grivnyas.
Mariya is requesting a loan of 10,000 Grivnyas to purchase assorted children’s clothing and toys to meet the growing customer demand this holiday season. She is hoping to generate additional income this winter and keep both of her hired employees employed in winter when many other market entrepreneurs have low sales and are forced to dismiss their employees. Mariya is hoping to use extra profit to finish construction work on her private house. The retail business is the only source of income for the family.
