Mr. Prak H., age 60, is a father of two children, both of whom are single and help the family in its work. He is married to Mrs. Ny Pheap, who is 40 years old and works as a farmer on land they own behind their house. She and her husband grow rice and vegetables on this land, and are applying for a loan to reduce their transportation costs by buying a secondhand motorcycle that they will use to deliver goods to market and travel around their area.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
