Lucienne
Lucienne was born in 1976 in Ouidah, a historic city of Benin. Lucienne is married to Rene and the mother of four children, some of whom are attending school. It has been nearly five years since the family moved to Akossavié, in the town of Abomey Calavi. Lucienne helps her husband and with him provides for her family's expenses.

In order to take care of her family's needs, Lucienne sells various items (pasta, couscous, canned tomatoes and canned sardines, vegetable oil, dish sets etc.) in a shop in her home. Lucienne buys her supplies in Dantokpa, the international market of Benin. Lucienne is also a seamstress, but that is a secondary business. This is the third loan Lucienne is requesting from ALIDé, she will use this loan to strengthen her business and grow her income.

Lucienne est née en 1976 à Ouidah, ville historique du Bénin. Lucienne est mariée à René et est mère de quatre enfants dont certains sont scolarisés. Il y a près de cinq ans que la famille s'est installée à Akossavié, dans la commune d'Abomey Calavi. Lucienne vient en aide à son mari et assure avec lui les charges familiales. Pour assurer ses besoins, Lucienne vend des divers (pâtes alimentaires, couscous, conserves de tomate et de sardine, huile végétale, plats en séries, etc. dans sa boutique size à son domicile. Lucienne achète ses produits à Dantokpa, marché international du Bénin. Lucienne est également une couturière, mais elle mène cette activité de façon secondaire. C'est la troisième fois que Lucienne sollicite auprès de ALIDé un crédit en vue de renforcer son activité et d'accroître son revenu.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
