The “RETAMITAS” Communal Bank is initiating its 3rd loan cycle with Pro Mujer at the Santiago II Central Office. The bank is composed of 9 members. The board of directors includes a president, treasurer, and secretary. The businesses they are involved in are varied: selling leather jackets, custom-made dresses, leather items, making skirts, selling artisan crafts, meals, plus seamstress work, and making skirts.

In the case of the president, Alicia is married, has consolidated a home, and is the mother of 3 children, 2 of whom have already left home to form their own. With respect to her business, Alicia, along with her husband, operates a tailor shop. They make suits to order. Alicia learned this trade from her husband many years back. She says, in her own words: “My husband has taught me everything.” Alicia indicates that the loan will be used to buy cloth from wholesalers in the city of La Paz.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Alicia says that she likes receiving credit.

La Banca Comunal “RETAMITAS” iniciará su tercer ciclo en Pro Mujer, en el Centro Focal de Santiago II. Está compuesta por nueve integrantes. La mesa directiva está compuesta por la presidenta, tesorera y secretaria de actas. Los negocios que ellas desempeñan son variados: venta de chamarras, costuras y cueron, artesanía, venta de comida, sastrería y costura, costura, venta de chamarras, confección de polleras.

En el caso de la presidenta, señora Alicia tiene un hogar consolidado, casada, madre de tres hijos, dos de ellos ya han dejado el hogar para conformar los propios. Con respecto al negocio, la señora Alicia tiene el negocio de costura junto con su esposo, elabora trajes a pedido. Ella aprendió este oficio de su esposo hace muchos años atrás, en sus propias palabras ella dice: “mi esposo me ha enseñado todo”. La señora Alicia indica que con el crédito comprará tela por mayor de la Ciudad de La Paz, de las tiendas mayoristas.
Cuando se le consulta sobre lo que le gusta de Pro Mujer ella indica que le gusta el crédito.
