The “KANTUTAS” (the national flower of Perú and one of two national flowers of Bolivia) communal bank is a group starting its fourth cycle in Panamericana Focal Center. It has 10 members. The governing board this cycle has Adela as President, Felisa as Treasurer and Virginia as Recording Secretary. The women all have different businesses. Among them are: merchant, tucumanas (fried cheese turnover) sales, plastics sales, sale of infant wear, grocery store, tailor shop, food sales, crafts, purse sales.

Adela, “KANTUTAS” communal bank President, has a home consisting of her partner and three children. She has been in the business of selling plastics (hangers, dust bins) for four years. She started this enterprise following her mother’s example who traversed the city of Sucre with merchandise many years ago. She makes her purchases in La Paz and her sales are in the interior in the cities of Sucre and Potosí. She asked for a Bs.3000 loan to buy more merchandise.

When we asked her what she liked best about Pro Mujer she answered: “the meetings” because they clear the mind.

La Banca Comunal “KANTUTAS” es uno grupo que inicia su cuarto ciclo en el Centro focal de Panamericana, cuenta con diez integrantes. La mesa directiva para este ciclo tiene como presidenta a la señora Adela, como tesorera a la señora Felisa y como secretaria de actas a la señora Virginia. Los negocios de las señoras son diferentes, entre ellos tenemos: comerciante, venta de tucumanas, venta de plásticos y ropa de bebé, tienda de consumo, sastrería, venta de comida, artesanía, venta de carteras.

La señora Adela, presidenta de la banca comunal “KANTUTAS” tiene un hogar conformado por su pareja y sus tres hijos. Con respecto a su negocio ella lleva 4 años en el negocio de la venta de plásticos (colgadores, recogedores de basura), inició este emprendimiento siguiendo el ejemplo de su madre quién viaja a la ciudad de Sucre con mercadería, desde hace varios años. Las compras son realizadas en La Paz y las ventas se realizan en el interior en las ciudades de Sucre y Potosí. Actualmente solicitó Bs.3000.- para la compra de más mercadería.
Cuando le consultamos qué es lo que más le gusta de Pro Mujer ella dice “las reuniones” pues despeja la mente.
