Riziki A. is married and has one child who attends school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Riziki has operated her coconut selling business for the past six years. She sells from home to villagers and a coast coconut farm company. In addition, she operates a boutique which contributes to her income. Riziki faces a major challenge of seasonality. During the hot summer season, fewer coconuts are available for sale while during the rainy winter season, many coconuts are available for sale. She hopes to supply 5,000 coconuts in the future.
With a loan of 40,000 KES, Riziki wants to purchase 2,000 coconuts for resale. She joined Yehu to access loans to improve her business.
