Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Bukiro Women's Group's story

A. Annet is the leader of Bukiro Women’s group in Ntungamo. She is 32 years old and married with three children, aged 12 to 7 years. Annet has a retail shop in Kakigani that sells sugar, flour, books, pens, as well as owns a hotel in the same area for 6 years. From her businesses, she is able to make 100,000 UGX in weekly profits.

She needs a loan to be able to buy more stock to expand the shop. Annet says that to start her shop, she got capital from the sale of bananas and says that her shop is easy to manage. Her dream is to buy her own plot of land and build her own house.
