Señora María P. is a member of the El Ahorro ("The Savings") communal bank. She lives in greater Cuenca, a city which is reknowned for the architectural beauty of its historic centre, its culture and traditions, and for the warmth of its people.

Señora María is 38 years old, and lives with her partner and their 4 children, aged 16, 11, 8 and 4. Her eldest daughter is married and living independently, while her next two daughters are attending a secondary school in the city. Her husband works as a travelling salesman, selling various goods such as cooking pots, spoons, etc. They do not have their own house, but live in rented accommodation.

Señora María is originally from the province of Portoviejo. A while ago she used to live in this city, and returned to our city a year ago for work. She is a salesperson like her husband, and sells her goods walking around the city. She works 7 days a week. La Señora María P. es socia del banco comunal El Ahorro, vive en la urbe de la ciudad de Cuenca, esta ciudad es reconocida por la belleza arquitectónica de su centro histórico, su cultura y tradiciones, siendo su gente calida y amable.

Doña María tiene 38 años, vive en unión libre y tiene 4 hijos de 16, 11, 8 y 4 años de edad, su primera hija es casada y vive independiente, sus dos siguientes hijas estudian en una escuela de la ciudad. Su esposo labora como comerciante ambulante, vende varios artículos como ollas, cucharas, etc., no tienen casa propia por lo que viven arrendando.

La Señora María es oriunda de la provincia de Portoviejo, hace un tiempo atrás ha vivido en esta ciudad y hace un año ha regresado a nuestra ciudad motivada por el trabajo ya que es comerciante al igual que su esposo, vende su mercadería recorriendo la ciudad y trabaja de domingo a domingo, esta actividad la realiza desde muy pequeña ya que laboraba con su padre desde niña.

Se encuentra en su segundo crédito y fue invitada por un sobrino a formar parte del banco comunal. Su nuevo crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de ollas, pastas dentales, etc., para la venta. Su sueño es tener casa propia.
