A loan of $550 helped to buy sacks of manure.

Edilberta's story

Edilberta, 58, is married to Máximo, 59. They both live with their daughter, Elitoya, 28, and their granddaughter, Mayrene, 5. They live together as a family in their own house located in the city of Tarma.

Six years ago she started selling green grains in a stand she leased in Tarma’s wholesale market. On market days, which are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, she buys sacks of lima beans and peas at wholesale circulating a daily amount of between 1000 and 1500 new soles. Thanks to the good sale of her crops she can earn up to a 15% profit on average on her investment.

However, Edilberta also farms potatoes and leafy vegetables in the town of Huasahuasi where her farmland is located. She cares for her crops every weekend. She is planning to plant more so that she won’t have to buy crops from third parties.

This is her 7th loan from MFP. As a longstanding member of her communal bank she feels happy for the support and progress of each member resulting in the mutual companionship they proviD. each other.

She plans to use the requested funds to buy several sacks of manure to spread on her potato crop.
