One of the members' moms is also present - the lady in the beige shawl with coffee-colored stripes and a mustard-colored hat). The group is in its second loan cycle and its members are very happy because they didn't run into any problems during their first loan cycle. The ladies' businesses include: public transport, neighborhood store, clothing sales, sewing ladies' bags, detergent sales, crockery sales, shoe sales, clothes sales and minibus conductor.

The group's president, Marcela, is a woman who has a strong household together with her husband and two children. Her business is collecting fares on the minibus which her husband drives. She says that they work together because they have found that when she handles the fares, they make more profits. She is requesting 2,500 bolivianos which will be invested in repairing their vehicle and buying tires and other parts. They work from Monday to Sunday, from 6.30am to 9.00pm.

When we asked Marcela what she liked about Pro Mujer, she replied that she likes the repayment terms.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
