Khalida's Group
In this Group: Khalida, Gulnaz Akhter , Ghafooran , Yasmeen , Jameela
Khalida is a resident of Samundri, a small city in the Punjab region of Pakistan, famous for its agriculture industry. She lives with her family in a 2-room brick house in the small housing colony of Ashrafabad. Khalida is a 50-year-old widow who stays at home and takes care of her family. She is a very responsible person and fulfills her household responsibilities very well. Khalida has 4 children: 2 sons and 2 daughters. Her eldest son operates a poultry farm business. He sells chickens to different butcher shops on order. Khalida's other children stay at home.

Khalida has applied for a loan from Kiva's partner Asasah to help her son in his business. With the loan, he will buy chicks and chicken feed to expand his business. This will help him fill his customers' larger orders and increase his income. Khalida is hopeful that an investment will expand his business further and will result in better financial conditions for the family. Khalida is a regular lender with Asasah and this is her 4th loan application. In previous loan years, she has established good credit behavior and never missed a meeting.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
