Sina is a 52-year-old lady who is married with five children. She is very glad to have joined SPBD’s loan program as it has helped her develop her farm which provides the income for her family. She has been in the program for a long time, and this is the largest available loan to members. This is her sixth loan, and it will be used to expand her farm and for home improvement. The farm is already quite big and helps her family meet financial commitments. She hopes to stay in the loan program for a long time.
South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) improves conditions for families living in poverty by providing accessible credit, training, and guidance to help them start, grow and maintain micro-businesses, build assets, finance home improvements, and afford to educate their children. 99% of SPBD’s loans go to women, who can borrow in groups to guarantee one another rather than put up collateral.
