Gbossèdé Célestine
Gbossèdé Célestine H. was born on July 31, 1976 in Adjohon, in the Ouémé district. Married to Rémi Alanmenou, Célestine is the mother of four children, two of whom are in her care. For five years, Célestine has been living together with her children and husband in the PK11 neighborhood in the Sèmè-Podji community. The spouses jointly take care of various family needs. Célestine has had very little schooling. To support herself, Célestine prepares food for sale (rice, beans, soft-boiled polenta, eggs, etc) in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. Celestine purchases her groceries in Cotonou. She has been in this business for three years and already obtained a loan from ALIDé before, repaying it well. Facing an increase in customer demand, Célestine would like to bolster her stock and expand her business, in order to increase her sales and revenues. This is why Célestine is seeking a new loan from ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. For more information, please refer to Alidé's partner profile page.
