Ruqqiya's Group
In this Group: Ruqqiya , Rehana, Haleema, Meena
Ruqqiya has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to help her husband who has a business selling construction supplies. He operates his shop in the market where he offers construction supplies like cement, bricks and sand etc to his customers. With the loan, he will buy more construction supplies to provide quality services to his customers and fill their orders on time.

Ruqqiya lives in the area called Nawaz Moore with her family in a 2-room brick house. She is located in Lahore which is the 2nd largest city of Pakistan and known for its history and culture. She has been living there for past 10 years.

She herself is a housewife, spending most of her time at home doing her household work. She also sews clothes for neighborhood customers when she is free from the household work. She is very skillful with her hands.

She has given birth to three sons. Unfortunately, none of them could get an education due to poor financial conditions. So they all started doing work. Her first two sons are drivers by trade and the youngest one works in a factory for a low income.

Her husband has been doing his business for over 10 years, and Ruqqiya is hopeful that a loan investment will be a profitable one for her husband and will make him more income than before. She is a new loan user of Asasah and this is her first loan application.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
