Mr. Run V. is 37-year-old widower who currently lives in the best territory of Takhmao city, in Cambodia. He is a local chef. He is always hired by neighbors to cook meals for their wedding parties and their other ceremonies. Additionally he plants rice crops on the farmland he owns.
Run V. faces difficulties traveling as he doesn’t have a vehicle to serve his daily transportation needs. He wants to own a motorcycle and is requesting a Kiva loan in order to purchase a second-hand motorcycle. This will allow to Run V. cut down on the expense of hiring taxis.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
