Martine G. was born in 1979 in Bopa, Benin. Married to Hector Hounhovi, Martine is the mother of four children who are all in school. In addition to their children, the couple take care of another child. The family has been living in Adogléta, a neighborhood of Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin for twelve years. With the income of her business, Martine helps her husband provide the family expenses. Martine did not finish school, so to meet her needs, she sells condiment sauces (canned or fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers, spices, etc.). She also sells grains and beans. Marine stocks up at Dantokpa, Benin's international market, and sells products at her home. Martine has been in business for nine years and she has already obtained eight loans through ALIDé, all of which have been repaid. Recently, Martine was the victim of the major flooding that occurred in Benin, but that did not stop her from repaying her loans. In order to expand her business and to further increase its revenues, Martine is asking for another loan through ALIDé.

G. Martine est née en 1979 à Bopa au Bénin. Mariée à HOUNHOVI Hector, Martine est mère de quatre enfants, tous scolarisés. En plus de leurs enfants, le couple a un autre enfant à charge. La famille s'est installée depuis une douzaine d'année environs à Adogléta, un quartier de Cotonou, capitale économique du Bénin. Martine vient en aide à son mari en supportant avec lui les différentes charges familiales, grâce au revenu de son activité. Martine n'a pas fréquenté l'école. Pour faire face à ses besoins, Martine vend divers condiments de sauce (tomate fraîche ou en conserve, oignons, piments, épices, etc.) et parallèlement, Martine vend des céréales dont le haricot. Martine s'approvisionne à Dantokpa, marché international du Bénin, et vend ses produits à son domicile. Martine exerce cette activité depuis neuf ans environs, et a déjà obtenu huit crédits auprès de ALIDé, crédits qui ont été tous bien remboursés. Martine a été victime de l'inondation récente qu'il y a eu au Bénin, mais cela ne l'a pas empêché de rembourser son crédit. Dans le but d'agrandir un peu plus son activité et d'accroître davantage ses revenus, Martine sollicite un autre crédit auprès de ALIDé.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000.
