This Kiva borrower is a 58-year-old married woman and the mother of one child. She sells a wide range of goods from her home to customers from her community. She has been involved in this occupation from the past six years. She sells oil, olives etc. Today, she is requesting a loan of $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to increase her inventory for the coming winter season. Her business depends largely on the seasons and she needs to be prepared before the winter. She believes that her business would fare better if she were to sell her goods in a different part of Lebanon. In the future, she would like to rent out a space to sell her merchandise, as well as sell popular homemade food products. For the time being, she will continue to sell goods from her home.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
