Victorina N. is a married woman with three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are school fees and piped water.
She runs a school, which she established three years ago. Her neighboring children attend her school. She took a photo with her school children. Victorina faces a major challenge of the high cost of purchasing text books for reading. She hopes to establish a big education center and open another school in the future.
Victorina decided to join Yehu to get a loan to boost her business. With the Kshs 60,000 she wants to purchase books and furniture (tables and chairs) for her school.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
