Jackson M. is forty eight years old and married. His wife is a nurse and they have two children aged sixteen years old and nine years old. They hope to give their children a good education to the university level. Jackson’s business is located in a busy commercial area in Thika. Thika is the region in Kenya known for production of pineapples. He owns a general store in which he sells such items as sugar, rice, bread, flour, cooking oil etc. He has been selling to the local people for the last 7 years. He says that this business is profitable, but he still has financial constraints which is his major challenge. However, he works very hard to keep his business doing well. He is using his loan of 15,000 KES to add stocks of sugar, rice, flour and cooking oil. He hopes to be a wholesaler in various shopping centers. He describes himself as ambitious, hard working and social.
