Anna is a single woman with five children, three of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor running water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.
For over eight years, Anna has operated a charcoal business. She sells charcoal to her neighbors and to the general public. Her major business challenge is seasonality. During the rainy winter season when demand is high, the charcoal supply is low and it is difficult for Anna to meet customer demand.
Anna decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her business. She is requesting a loan of 40,000 KES to purchase sacks of charcoal for resale. In the future, Anna hopes to expand her business.
