Muhayo J. has been selling fabric for 7 years. She is married with 6 children. Her husband is doing odd driving jobs which don't provide a stable income for the family. After her 5th and 6th child were born Muhayo had to start trading at the market leaving the kids in her mother-in-law's care. At first she bought some fabric from a wholesale dealer to sell retail. In the beginning of 2006 she found out about the "Microinvest" loan program. With her first loan from "Microinvest" she was able to start buying and transporting goods from the wholesale store "Atush" in the Hagend city. Now she sells her goods to small retail vendors in the villages which is beneficial to all parties involved. She spends a part of her profit for her family needs and uses the rest of it to benefit the business.
