This village bank consists of eighteen people who live in Boeng Krum Kraom village in Kandal province. Mrs. Bun Y., born in 1961, is a village bank president and has been selected as the group leader by the other members. Each of the members will use his or her portion of the loan in varied ways to support their businesses.

Mrs. Bun Y. is a widow with a child who works as a waiter. She is a farmer who owns a small piece of land to cultivate rice and corn to sell to support her family. Now, in her field it is time to plant rice but Mrs. Y. does not have enough capital to buy seeds. Therefore, to improve production, Mrs. Bun Y. will use her loan to buy rice seed to plant this year.
