Mrs. Choeu C. is a 39-year-old married woman who operates a small business by selling and buying used products from her home. She can make her profit every day to support her family. Mrs. Choeu C.’s husband also works with her in the same business. Mrs. Choeu C. and her husband are blessed with four children who are no longer in school, and who are sewing clothes in a garment factory. In order to add income and make her trade more successful, Mrs. Choeu C. would like to request a loan from Kiva to purchase a used motorbike to travel to buy used goods.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
