The Communal Bank “Ilusiones” (Illusions) meets every fifteen days in the neighborhood of El Progresso in the city of Portoviejo. This marginalized urban area is the most populated section of the city and known for being the location of the Portoviejo Women’s Prison.

Silvia also sells products manufactured by Avon and Esika (beauty products, perfumes, and women’s accessories). In addition, she sells clothes of the Starchic brand through a catalog. Silvia works every day from 9am to 11am and from 2pm to 4pm. She sells to her classmates at the University. Her products are offered on credit and she collects payments every fifteen days in 2-3 installments depending on the price of the product.


This loan will be used to buy more products, especially women’s clothes that sell the most. Silvia is in her third loan cycle with the Communal Bank and enjoys the support that she has received. Thanks to the loans, she has been able to get ahead in her business and move forward with her studies. Her dreams are to become a successful professional and provide her son with the best.

En la ciudadela El Progreso de la ciudad de Portoviejo se reúne cada quince días el Banco Comunal Ilusiones esta es una zona urbano marginal muy poblada en esta ciudad.se la conoce como el sector de la cárcel ya que en esta zona queda la cárcel de mujeres de Portoviejo.

En este lugar encontramos a Silvia, ella tiene 22 años de edad, es madre sotera de un niño de tres años que es su compañía y su adoración. Estudia el noveno semestre de economía en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí.

Se dedica al comercio, vende productos Avon y Esika (productos de belleza, perfumería y accesorios para damas). Además ropa por catalogo de la marca Starchic. Trabaja todos los días desde las 9am hasta las 11am y de 14h00 a 16h00, también les vende a sus compañeras de la Universidad, deja a crédito y cobra cada quince días en dos o tres pagos dependiendo del valor del producto.

Este nuevo crédito lo va a emplear en comprar sus productos y en especial ropa de mujer que es lo más vende. Este es su tercer ciclo en el Banco Comunal y le gusta por la ayuda que ha recibido ya que gracias a los créditos a logrado sacar su negocio y sus estudios adelante.

Sus sueños son ser una gran profesional y darle lo mejor a su hijo.
