In this Group: Nazeeran , Shazia Maryam, Rani Begum, Azra Bibi, Parveen Bibi, Parveen
Nazeeran is the mother of three sons. Two of them are involved in a construction supply-selling business along with their father who has been doing this business for over 12 years, while the youngest one is studying in class one. She lives with her family in a 2-room brick house in a mid-sized city, Kasur, which is famous in Pakistan for its leather industry.

Nazeeran supports her family financially by doing embroidery. She is very good at her art and receives regular orders from her neighborhodd clients. She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her husband’s business. With the loan, he will buy construction supplies such as bricks, sand and cement in larger quantity. That will help him fill larger orders on time and make more income.

Nazeeran is hopeful that this loan investment will be a profitable one for her husband and his business will improve. She is a regular loan user of Asasah and this is her 4th loan application. In previous loan years, she has proved a responsible client who paid her installments on time and attended every meeting.

Note: In the photo, the lady who has holds a book (called Asasah Passbook) in her hand is Nazeeran.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
