The Kiva borrower is a 27-year-old single man living with his parents. He is from Lebanon. He has been running an IT/computer repair shop since 2003. He works with computers in addition to his full-time education studies at the university. His father is the main income provider of his family but his income is an important source of support for his father. With his loan request of $1200 from Kiva's partner organization Ameen s.a.l., he will purchase new tools and accessories for his business in order to improve his business level. He will buy them from a wholesaler at a good price. He estimates his business will grow about 15% in the coming year. In the future, he is looking to open a computer accessories shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
